Huawei Honor 8

Huawei Honor 8

Huawei's online only sub-brand Honor is all set to launch its first flagship phone, the Honor 8, in India on October 12. Ahead of the official launch, a Mumbai-based retailer has tipped price of the phone(s) in question. Apparently, it seems like the Honor 8 will have two variants. One of them will be priced at Rs 19,999 the top-tier version will cost Rs 29,999.
Update: Sources from Huawei tell IndiaToday Tech that these are speculative prices. The price of the Honor 8, they say, is not yet final. It will only be finalised closer to the launch. It is possible that the retailer in this case made an educated guess of price of the upcoming phone in a bid to start the pre-orders. According to Huawei, for now there is nothing official about these prices.
Or, perhaps Huawei's Honor will be launching something else entirely to compliment the Honor 8, and just one Honor 8. Since, things haven't been made official by the company, it is advised that you take this piece of information with a pinch of salt. Should, Honor price the Honor 8 at Rs 29,999 the phone will cost Rs 10,000 less than Huawei's P9. Both the Honor 8 and the Huawei P9 have one thing in common: both the phones have a dual camera setup on the rear. But while in the case of the Honor 8 these are standard sensors, in the case of the P9 the sensors have been certified by camera tech giant Leica.
Inherently, though both the phones work on similar philosophy. Both the phones have two cameras on the rear -- dual 12-megapixel with dualLED (dual tone) flash -- wherein one takes monochrome shots while the other takes photos in colour (RGB). The phone's software algorithm then merges both the images into one and creates the final photo. The monochrome images can take in 300 per cent more light and 50 per cent more contrast than coloured photos, according to Huawei. So basically, the two phones can ideally take better low-light photos than rival top-tier phones thanks to its dual-lens system, if the company is to be gone by.

The Honor 8 boasts of an all glass and metal body with rear mounted fingerprint scanner. It comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p display and an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor clubbed with 4GB RAM under the hood and up to 64GB memory. The phone is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery.
